Favorite Crochet Patterns of 2023
It’s that time of year again. I love looking back at the year and seeing which patterns my crochet friends have enjoyed the most.
I’ll break it down in a few different ways. I’ll give the favorite pattern for a few different categories, the overall favorite pattern of the year, as well as my personal favorite.
Favorite Blanket Pattern of the Year
The favorite blanket pattern for 2023 was the Block Stitch Blanket (also called the Terracotta Shores Blanket).
This blanket has sold hundreds of times on Etsy, and brought in many visitors to my blog. People love the colors and the ease of the stitch.
Favorite Dishcloth Crochet Pattern of 2023
The most popular dishcloth has definitely been the Suzette Stitch Dishcloth (aslo called the Dip Stick Dishcloth). The fun colors and beautiful texture really made this pattern a fan-favorite this year.
I still smile every time I see these dishcloths, and I think you will, too!
Favorite Hat Pattern
In the hat category, the Cozy Pom Pom Beanie Pattern came in on top. People love that this hat is not worked from the top down like your typical hat.
If you struggle with hats in general, you definitely need to give this pattern a try!
Most Popular Miscellaneous Pattern
The most popular “miscellaneous” pattern has been the Dainty Daisy Bookmark. Because it’s perfect for using up scraps of yarn, you can probably make as many of these as you want with just the supplies you have on hand.
They’re perfect for your book-loving friends!
Overall Favorite Pattern of 2023
The overall favorite pattern on the blog in 2023 was the Easy Baby Blanket Crochet Pattern. It is the perfect blanket for beginners, and people are always thrilled with their results.
A friend recently completed this blanket as her first big crochet project and it turned out perfectly!
My Favorite Pattern of 2023
My personal favorite pattern on the blog is a hard pick. I feel like my opinion changes from time to time. This year, I embraced a more simple lifestyle and decluttered many of my possessions.
With that in mind, the simplicity of the Cobblestone Pathways throw blanket sent it to the top of my list for 2023.
What about you? Do your favorites line up with the stats? Let me know if your favorite Daisy Cottage Designs pattern isn’t on the list!

The Cobblestone pattern is special to me. A long-time member of my book club passed away too soon from cancer, so as part of my grief processing, I made a Cobblestone blanket for each of the eight book club member friends. It helped me process, and it was appreciated as a “hug” by my friends. Thank you so much for a great pattern – relaxing to make, but not too monotunous!

I agree totally with your overall favorite! It took me a couple of tries to get it right. I like it so much I have made a couple to donate to the VA home.
Thank you for all your patterns and videos.

I hadn’t crocheted for many years; I live a more sedentary life style as I am now 84 and have less mobility. I decided to do some crocheting for my upcoming great grandchildren. I chose the baby blanket and am now on to my 3rd one.
I enjoy it very much, thanks to your clear instructions.

Hi Lauren, I have to admit I’ve only tried one of your beautiful patterns but I’m ‘hooked’ on this one for life! Your Baby Girl Blanket was so easy to follow and worked quickly and beautifully❤️ I worked my newborn granddaughter’s blanket in Bernat Softee Cotton Feather Grey and Cream. Results were just soft and elegant. Working now on a larger version as a throw. Love your site and all the inspirational colour schemes you provide. 💕🌹
