Off the Hook {Ruffle Toy}
By Lauren on December 26, 2012
When I made these bath poufs a while back, I was really disappointed that I couldn’t let Caroline have some fun with them since they were for an order. With a little bit of extra time on my hands this past week, I made a smaller version so Caroline could play with it. I basically followed the same pattern but rather than starting with 25 in the ring, I used 13. The overall look was the same and the smaller size was perfect for Caroline’s little hands. I used Knit Picks Comfy Worsted Yarn in Honey Dew – it is unbelievably soft and easy to work with.
Playing with this ruffly ball turned out to be a wonderful sensory experience. Caroline loved touching it and manipulating the ruffles. She also liked putting it up to her face and shaking it around. I think I’m going to use some yarn from my stash to make a couple more. I’m thinking they’ll be a great way to keep Caroline occupied during our preschool adventures.
